The PRIVO iD is an online federated credential for families that operates under the policies set and enforced by the Minors Trust Framework (MTF), an online identity trust model, developed in conjunction with the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC), a White House initiative aimed at finding a better way to protect consumers’ online identity by utilizing secure, efficient, easy-to-use and interoperable identity credentials to access online services in a manner that promotes confidence, privacy, choice and innovation.

A PRIVO iD helps kids and educators ask for permission online, and provides parents an easy way to give or deny that permission request. PRIVO iD account holders have a hub from which they can see all the PRIVO enabled sites, apps and other online services they have registered with, along with the permissions they have given for their child(ren) and even themselves to participate in.
Online service providers – known as Relying Parties (RP) – who utilize the PRIVO iD, agree to comply with strict adherence to privacy and security requirements.
