In situations where a login credential is not required to enable a child to participate in a COPPA triggering activity, a lead account creation might be the answer. Lead account can be utilized as an API, embedded widget or redirect to PRIVO services. It allows the collection of information and permissions without requiring the creation of a login credential and in the case of a “shadow account”, the service shadows a login credential created on the service side, not through PRIVO. For example a simple newsletter or push notification sign-up and can deliver data directly to third party service providers who are responsible for execution.
Over time, the lead account can join a starter account or lead to new account creation when the consumer has been provided a reason to create an official account.
